KARACHI: Over 100 endangered green turtles, mainly found
in trop
ical and subtropical waters, ‘mysteriously’ appeared on the coast of the city.
A video made by International Union for Conservation o
f Nature (IUCN) representative shows the green turtles on
the Sandspit beach.
The green turtles are classified as endangered by WWF due to excessive harvesting of their eggs, hunting of the adults, being caught in fishing gear and loss
of nesting beach sites.
