The case of policemen’s abduction in Lahore took a new turn when the police investigation reportedly revealed that the vehicle used in the kidnapping belongs to Punjab Housing Minister
Mehmoodur Rasheed’s son.
Earlier, it was reported that two cops were kidnapped by unidentified individuals aft
er they tried to stop a car with a girl and a boy inside in Ghalib Market area adjacent to the
busy MM Alam road of the city.
According to the first information report (FIR), aft
er the vehicle was pulled up, the girl had called her abettors who arrived at the site in two vehicles and abducted the cops. The boy and the girl fled the scene in the car that is, according to the police, belonged to the minister’s son.
However,
Mehmoodur Rasheed in a p
ress conference ‘categorically’ rejected the claims of his son’s involvement in the case and termed them as ‘fabricated’.
He added that his son reached at the spot when he received call from his frie
nd. 8220;I have asked my son to present himself to the police station,” Rasheed said.
The minister added that he will ‘fully cooperate’ with the police and will resign from the post if his son found involved in the kidnapping.
