BASIR PUR: Five persons were
killed, while two others were injured in a train-rickshaw collision on Wednesday.
Farid Express train was heading from Lahore to Karachi and collided into a rickshaw at Basir Pur c
rossing on Wednesday, resulting in the death of five people and leaving two other injured.
According to sources, Police informed tha
t the accident has oc
curred due to lack of c
rossing. Rickshaw
driver was trying to cross the track at Basirpur where there was no railway c
rossing.
Victims were rushed to local hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment.
The dead bodies were identified as Mohammed Bilal, Mohammed Ramazan, Ahmed Yar, Shahzad and the rickshaw
driver Mohammed Aslam.
According to sources, railway administration confirmed abou
t the death of the five persons Railways Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique ordered inquiry abou
t the incident.
Family members of the victims placed dead bodies of the deceased a
t the railway track and protested agains
t the government. They claimed tha
t the government was responsible for the loss of life due to negligence in constructing c
rossing a
t the railway tracks.
